The Journey || Standing On The Promises

I often refer back to John 9:3 whenever I am trying to figure out the process of it all. When Jesus spoke to the disciples they had wondered why the man was blind and asked if he or his parents had sinned. Jesus said, “It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins, this happened so the power of God could be seen in him. We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming and then no one can work. But while I am here in the world, I am the light of the world.” What was Jesus saying? This man’s issue was not because he or his parents had sinned but that it was going to be used for the greater glory of God.

On your journey let me encourage you to stand up. I mean it physically. Begin to stand up each time you fall down emotionally. Whenever depression hits, hit it back with the Word of God. Whenever you start thinking that you are worthless, remember God’s word. Keep those scriptures handy. Keep the Word at your finger tips. The Word of God is considered to be “sharpest two-edged sword” and that means that you can use the Word of God has a weapon of mass destruction against the devil. On this journey, you are going to need a map and that map is the Word of God. Without it, you will get lost on a bunch of rabbit trails. God wants you to come on this journey. The question is, are you ready?

Begin saying “I am determined to use this opportunity to give great glory to God.” This time in my life and for the years to come will be for His glory whether I am excited or saddened. I refuse to let anyone’s thoughts of me bring me down because I know who I am in Christ. I refuse to let the enemy have the glory for coming against me. It is not a battle to be won in one day but a battle to be fought every single day. Am I going to fall from time to time? I am certain I will because I am human. I purpose to be as Christ when He came to that point of blood and tears. In Luke 22:45, it says “At last he stood up again.” I am so glad to see Christ who stood up again against the enemy because when I fall, He picks me up.
