There are times I often wonder on how much we really trust and rely on God. You know, that time when you needed a miracle paycheck to come forth because your rent was past due and you had to also pay the electric bill. Of course, you would never admit that now, would you? Let me testify! But in those times we have to rely and trust in God for those things to come to past. Now we know that it’s not only our finance that we have to trust and rely on God for but that was just one example. Another would be you have a vision for a great prosperous business that would bring millions to Christ but you don’t have the means to make it happen, not just financially but the backing of people and other venues. You could easily just give it up and move on. But God wants you to realize something, trust in Him and He will make it happen. Now just because it doesn’t happen in five minutes doesn’t mean it’s not from God. How do I know? I have seen it done time and time again in my life. From moving to St. Louis to marrying my wife to raising our daughter, God has had to “test” me, if you will, on these things. Maleah is an angel but this past month has been a test from God. But God will equip Sara and I to continue to provide for Maleah, to love her, and to take good care of her. What kind of parent would we be if we decided that we couldn’t trust God? We would give up and Maleah’s life would be hopeless. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10. Though I wasn’t going to use this scripture to base this teach on, it is a great scripture to stand on. Know that God will give you the strength to do everything He needs you to do. Don’t think for a moment that God is going to desert you because you haven’t done everything by the book. He says that He will uphold you with His righteous right hand, not His judgmental right hand. In Psalms 56:3-5 David writes, “What time I am afraid, I will have confidence in and put my trust and reliance in You. By [the help of] God I will praise His word; on God I lean, rely, and confidently put my trust; I will not fear. What can man, who is flesh, do to me? All day long they twist my words and trouble my affairs; all their thoughts are against me for evil and my hurt.” Even king David knew the importance of relying on God and having his confidence in the Lord for his trust. So often do we end up worrying ourselves to the dickens and run to the prayer line hoping that someone on the other end is going to give us a “word” from the Lord. Friend, please don’t forget that the same person that is praying for you on the other end of that prayer line is not God, but a person who has or is going through exactly what you are or were going through. God merely uses them to minister to you through a prayer. Don’t get discouraged or let down if that person doesn’t pray what you think should be the right prayer. God is ministering to you through them. Be careful to not let someone who is praying for you act as God for you. Only God has the right answer for you. If someone gives you a “word”, you will know it’s from God because it will be confirmed through God’s word and your spirit. Have your confidence in God, not man. Man will let you down; God will only lift you up.
