The Conqueror-Part 4
Well, you know about those little whining wimps who think that they have all of life figured out? You know those that have the audacitiy to believe that they can slay giants? Now do I have your attention? Many people, even unbelivers, know the story of this character. He was a meer servant in his father's house and was unwanted from the day he was born. He was believed to have been born out of wedlock and out of luck. Even his father dismissed him to attend the flocks when the prophet came to anoint Israel's next king. But his story landed him amongst the hall of champions. He came one day to bring lunch to his brothers who were off at war. While there he saw the tormentor of the Israeli army. This "weak" boy, dismissed his brother's taunts and went straight to the top, King Saul. By the end, he had declared victory of his giant before he even fought him. He declared boldly and proudly that he was fighting for the heart of his King. He took some smooth stones and laid one into the middle of the giants head. This simple boy took on his giant and left victorious. This boy named David did not let his past dictate his future. He did not let what other people thought of him determine what his actions were going to be. Peer pressure did not take it's nasty grip on him. In Romans, Paul wrote in inspiration that you are more than a conqueror. You are victorious over any evil or any attack that comes against you. You have the mind of Christ and have the help of Almighty God to conqueor anything. Is it going to be easy? Is the Christian walk easy? In John 16:33, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." It doesn't mean that you will have the easy life but it does mean that in the end, Christ has overcome it and He is the ultimate conqueror. If you haven't accepted Jesus Christ as your personal saviour, I want to invite you to do so. God's word tells us in Romans 10:9 that if you "confess with your lips that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." No denomination required. God loves you and cares for you, so much so that He sent His son Jesus Christ to die for your sins so that you will have a life everlasting. How is this part of being a conqueror? By believing in Jesus Christ, you have conquered the devil. You have become victorious in the final fight. Let me encourage you if you have never accepted Jesus Christ or you just have recieved Him to speak to a pastor or call a prayer line. No strings attatched. Be more than a conqueror with Jesus Christ at your side.
