Watch Out For Sharp Objects
Many times in our lives we find that we are in danger. We are in danger of loosing our jobs or loosing our home or even loosing our life. The devil loves to emphasize on the "what ifs" in life. We often have our mind set on what could go wrong instead of what God's Word tells us. I know in my own walk with the Lord, I fall in this area. This past week as an exceptionally hard week for me because the devil loves to mess with my mind when things aren't going according to "plan". I spoke with one of my superiors and they informed me of something Joyce Meyer once said. "We should turn our worry to praise." God doesn't mind you asking for the things that you need but He loves to hear the praise. When Paul and Silas were imprisoned for their beliefs, it could have been easy for Silas to look at Paul and say, "Look at this Paul! Just look at this! Look what we get when we follow God!" Instead they broke out in praise. God is more apt to respond in your favor if you have Faith in Him. Where do I see that in scripture? Not only do we see it with Paul and Silas but also in James 1:6. It says, "Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind." Now this pertains to wisdom in this context but we have to not be like the billowing wind in asking Him. Don't go "well God, if it is Your will." Honestly, God tells you to boldly go to His throne. So when you go to God, instead of the negative, go with the positive. "God your Word says...." His Word tells us that "you have not because you ask not." So don't go around your house going, "this house is never going to get paid off and the bills are piling up and....." I go around my house and my vehicles saying, "My home is going to be paid off because Your word tells me that 'the Lord shall supply all your needs in accordance to His riches and glory in Christ Jesus.' I will own my own business because you tell me that if I 'delight myself in the Lord He will give you the desires of your heart.' I thank you Lord that you are going to provide the newer vehicle for us that is paid off because Your Word tells me that "the Lord shall command a blessing into your storehouses and all that you undertake." I thank you Lord that your Word tells me that your Word will return not void to you." There are power in your words. Be careful what you profess. If you profess negative things, you will get the negative things and the same is for the positive. If your husband is not saved and is a heathen, go around your house saying, "John will be the man of God that he was created to be and he is going to love me as Christ loved the church. John is going to be the head and not the tail. He is going to be debt free and is going to be wise with what the Lord has given to him. I am going to be wife that God has created me to be and I will pray for John because the Word instructs me to do." I have seen this done and it does work. Is "john" there yet? No. But the "fervent and effectual prayer of a righteous man availed much." I don't know everything that God has in store for us in this life but I think we should be ready to experience as much of God as we can in it while we are here until He takes us home. Your tongue determines if you will have a life fulfilled or a life filled less.
