To Give Him Praise
Whenever I pray with someone, it's a custom for me to say "Lord, we give you the praise and the glory." The reason behind it is that whenever we pray, we are asking God to answer our prayer and God's word says "Ask and recieve" So we are already giving God the glory and the praise because we know He will answer our prayers. Anyhow, Today I was drinking my cup of coffee while I was feeding Joanna her usual bottle when a song came on the computer. It's normal for a baby's hands to move up and around when they are this little. But her little hand went into the air as if she was praising Abba Father. As any father does, I played with her hand a little and then she wrapped her fingers around mine. It occurred to me as we praise God, He does the same. In Psalms 9:1-2, the Psalmist wrote: " I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High." The word praise in verse 1 comes from the Hebrew word yādâ meaning, "use (i.e. hold out) the hand" (from Stong's Dictionary). Then in verse 2, another form of Praise which is the Hebrew word "zāmar" which literally means "striking with the fingers." Today, I encourage you to "use the hand" and "strike" with your fingers. Just as Joanna did, maybe unknowingly, raise your hand to the Father and give Him the praise. Whether you feel like it or not, God is a keeper of His word. In 1 Corinthians 10:31 (KJV) " Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." Today, it's a day of rememberance. It's the month of rememberance. Today, we thank God for all that He has done, He is doing, and will do. Give Him the praise!!
