Recently in prayer, I had a question come into my Spirit; “Why do we pray to a God that we do not trust?” So often we say prayers like “God I know but...” or “God just needs to...” “I have been praying but....” It still amazes me on how easy it is for us to pray and that's all. We don't leave it, we carry it around like a treasure because we don't trust God. In Proverbs 3:5, “Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.” Let us breath here and unpackage this trust. The word trust comes from the Hebrew word for “batach” which means to “have confidence.” The dictionary, which I think this is neat, defines trust as “ reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc, of a person or thing.” We are to have a full reliance on the integrity of God's strength. Amen! We can have trust in knowing that God is full of strength and has the ability to conquer any and all things (John 16:33.) I ended here because it completely blows my mind to know this fact and it is so good to know, not just acknowledge, how we have a father that we can fully trust in.
