A Relationship Worth Having- Part One
This season always reminds me of the birthing of the earth. Everything for a short season is dead. The trees are hard and cold, the grass is brown and dry, and where flowers once grew is rock and dirt. But in the spring, that is where the action begins. The lifeless trees begin to shell new leaves of green that clothe the branches, the very grass that hid under the snow a few months ago is now growing into lush fields of green, and the bulb less flowers are now dancing with colors. You are already wondering how this title has anything to do with spring. In John 3:16, John write "whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." Could you imagine for a moment of that time that you, by doing this, could have a life time of springs? Not only do you have eternal life in Christ Jesus but each and every day is a new season in your life. You embark on a new journey that you had not walked before. There is never a day that you stop growing in Him. This reminds me of our little girl who is due to be born in a few months. Maleah Noel from the day of conception began to grow. She learned to suck her thumb, kick, and move from her mom's side to her back. When she enters the world in this life, she will learn how to talk, how to walk, eat, and so many other things. She will go to school and learn. She will then learn life and then in the end of this physical life, she will enter glory. There is a decision to make in this life before entering the next life. You may see this as just a ploy to get you into church on Sunday morning wearing a tie and singing, "Just as I Am" but hear me out. Jesus Christ could care less if you are Catholic, Messianic Jewish, Baptist, etc. He could care less if you break bread every morning at eight or three. In revelations, Christ is shown as one who is knocking on the door to dine with you. If you had friend knocking on your door, you don't just dismiss them as a trouble maker, no, you let them in. You don't just invite them in for five minutes and then tell them to leave. You actually sit down on the couch or at the table and talk for a spell then have something to snack on or perhaps play a game. You would converse with them about everything that has gone on with your life. Jesus is knocking on the door to come in and dine with you. If you answer the door, you will have the relationship of a worth having. Christ is not all about religion. We see that over and over in scripture with the Pharisee’s. Christ did not dine with the pastor of the Well Known Church of Galilee. He dined with the sick and the sinners who needed a friend. So what does Christ require from you to have this relationship? Stay tuned.
