Security- Part Two

A loud clash rings out from the front of the house. Suddenly you find yourself searching for an object, any object to defend yourself. Through the hallway you creep slowly along. Your heart is in your throat and your blood has run cold. You stand in the darkness waiting for your adversary to move out from the void when out from the darkness it lunges out for you. Scared out of your wits, it is then you realize it's your cat. Imagine how silly you feel. In Psalms 91, then psalmist David wrote, "Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the most High your dwelling place, there shall no evil befall you." Your relationship with Christ is like having a security alarm on your house. The Holy Spirit acts as a siren when the enemy enters the camp. However, if you are not in tune or don't have that relationship with Christ, then you don't hear the alarm. In I Peters 5:8, we are instructed to be sober and ready because the devil walks around like a roaring lion seeking that he can devour. We have to be ready to act and do it quickly. Whenever you hear the alarm in your house, you don't immediately go and check out what it is. You tend to run from that danger that comes against you. We have to be aware of the situations that we are placed in our lives. If something is missing in our lives, we tend to search for something or someone to fill it. There is an internal alarm that goes off when we are missing someone or something. That alarm signals in the form of sadness, loneliness, fear, etc. When we accept Christ into our lives, not religion, we begin to loose that loneliness. We attend the church building to fellowship with fellow believers who are supposed to encourage and lift one another up in our adversity. In doing these things we become more in tuned with the Holy Spirit and that internal alarm is ready to warn us when we are in danger. Now we are preparing for our inheritance to the Kingdom. Intrigued? Stay tuned.
